A couple of days ago, the thermostat finally dipped down below 71, and that was our signal that fall was coming; I love it when Fall gets here because the cooler weather is such a relief from the oppressive heat that weighs heavy on the east from February through November; Today, the thermostat app on our phone says it is 52 degrees, and I am enjoying it so much.
The thermostat on the wall is slightly weird and declares that it is 54 degrees.
I’m not going to quibble over numerous degrees. The important thing is that I get to flip off the air conditioner! Every year, pretty much everyone in our little corner of the world look forward to turning off the cooling system and opening up the windows or doors. Today, that is what it looks like at our house. The back door is open – flying critters never you mind – and the cat is happily trotting in and out. The window in the kitchen is open, and most importantly I am running neither the cooling system nor the heater! That means a lower utility bill! Even though I live in a small locale, our utility bill stays high. I rent this locale, so of course the owner doesn’t pay for a top-of-the-line Heating and Air Conditioning system. That means the cooling system is twice as efficient than it might be in other locales, and that means the cooling system bill is higher than ideal! My neighbor who lives in a apartment about several times the size of this 1 has a lower electric bill than I do! She has a mini split cooling system machine for the big back room of his house, and I suppose it is honestly efficient, and very quiet.
