When I was growing up I had everything.
I understand that I came from a family that is not your average clan.
We had a lot of resources to work with because my grandfather was a very successful businessman. As such, I never went for want. I always had everything I could possibly ask for and beyond. I know that my siblings and I are not your typical examples of children raised in this modern world. However, I am still always learning all of the ways that my upbringing differed from your typical circumstances. Recently, hearing about the heating, cooling, and air quality control systems of my peers was rather shocking. It turns out, most family households have one single centralized heating, cooling, and air quality control system with one single temperature control device. I had no idea that people were limited to one thermostat which was supposed to serve the individual air temperature preferences of everyone in the house. Obviously, this seems impossible to me. One forced air furnace and one air conditioning unit cannot do it all, especially when there is one temperature control device for everyone. It’s especially confusing, because we had separate thermostats throughout our entire household. Apparently, my parents thought it was important to install zone control heating and cooling along with our central heating, cooling, and air purification system. Every bedroom had unique temperature control devices so we could establish our own ideal indoor temperature. My parents said it was better for our health… But even more advantageous to keep the kids from fighting about the thermostat.
